St. Francis De Sales Catholic School’s Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a Catholic Standards-Based Junior Kindergarten one to two- year program. The purpose of TK is to provide the necessary pathway between Pre-school and Kindergarten. Our TK program will provide students with the necessary skills, social awareness and faith, to promote a smooth transition to Kindergarten and enable them the ability to achieve academic excellence.
A standards-based curriculum is taught through engaging with students, learning and discovery. Our school provides students with social interactions that are rich in learning through reading, mathematical inquiries, games, interactive and dramatic play, music, art, technology, physical education and faith formation. St. Francis De Sales Catholic School believes that each child is a unique individual with their own style of learning, intellect, and social skills, that need to be nurtured and developed in a caring and safe environment. The teachers and staff at St. Francis De Sales Catholic School make it a priority to provide a safe and nurturing Catholic environment, which is visible through our School-wide Learning Expectations (SLE’s). Transitional Kindergarten follows the full day schedule of traditional kindergarten. Additionally, TK students enjoy lunch and recess with their kindergarten friends and participate in joint activities. Here at St. Francis De Sales Catholic School we celebrate the uniqueness of each child's God given talents, intellectual abilities and learning styles by providing diverse opportunities to use and share these gifts as they grow to be our future leaders in the community.
